In the Playscape classrooms, a cornerstone within the curriculum is that children learn through play. Finding joy in an activity makes learning fun. One wants to return, do more, learn more, have that good feeling again. The good feeling that the caregiver shares with the child during play strengthens the bond, builds trust, opens the heart for possible feelings of well-being.
When we bring all of this outside, the health effects of being out in nature is added to this wonderful mixture. Being in nature reduces anxiety, helps us sleep better and when shared with loved ones, it nourishes those loving connections.
