In-Home Mentoring
What Mentoring Looks Like
When you reach out, we match you with a trained volunteer mentor who visits your home once a week for at least six months.
What does that look like? Your mentor might read stories to your toddler while you take a shower. Help prep dinner while you chat about your week. Play with the kids so you can tackle your to-do list. Or simply sit with you over coffee for the adult conversation you've been craving.
Every family is different. Your mentor is there for whatever you need.
All our mentors complete background checks and training before their first visit. They gather monthly with other mentors to share experiences and learn. And they've all been through the parenting years themselves—they get it.
Services are free and happen in your home. A parent or caregiver is always present during visits.

"The Mother Mentors program is a huge gift to the community, and to mothers in particular who don't have the support of the village like we need! Our mentor has been such a gift to our whole family for over a year, starting when my son was 2 years old. Not only does he always look forward to time with her, but our dog and cat always come running to see her when she's around, and I get a much needed break to exercise or do some work. She gives wonderful, reassuring advice to me when I ask, and is a reliable, steady presence in our family. We're so grateful to Mother Mentors for their invaluable work supporting mothers and children!"
